Pairing: Tom/OFC, there are more though
Summary: McFly have split up and Tom refuses to accept that its over. His wife leaves him because of his refusal to give up the past. Working with Danny, writing for a new girl band, the Strawberry Dolls, Tom tries to win over the former members of McFly to reform, will he succeed?

The Pursuit Of Music
Prologue
"Guys I've got something I want to tell you, Some god news and some bad" Harry said looking nervous. "What's up mate?" Danny asks, "Well the good news is that me and Jennie are having a baby and we are getting married." Harry gushes after all the hugs and well wishes Dougie asks what the bad news is "Well, guys...I'm really sorry...but...I want to leave the band...I want to be the best dad I can" Harry stumbles. Those six words crushed my world, this band was my life my soul and Harry was throwing it away. To say that me Danny and Dougie were gutted wasn't even close to how we felt. We did discuss carrying on without Harry and getting a new drummer but all realised that it wouldn't be the same, we were a team all four of us.
We all went our separate ways after the band, me, Danny and Dougie never loosing contact with each other. None of us have heard from Harry since the day we announced our split to the press and fans. Danny and Dougie constantly say that they wish that they had tried hard to keep in touch with him, me on the other hand hated him for what he done, I cant move on, McFly were my life and I'll do anything to get it back, no matter what the cost.

Chapter 1 - Tom's POV
"Hey, what do you think about these" Kayla asks me as she enters the room, her hands filled with magazines, "Tom, you're not watching those McFly videos again are you?" she sighs "I just miss it babe" I explain, "I know you do Tom, but it's not good for you to dwell on things, so here, have a look at these's" she says as she hands me some of her wedding magazines, we are getting married in 4 months. "What you think of these as the wedding invites '" she asks point to a page in the magazine, "Yeah cool" I smile at her. "Oh and we'll need to lists of everyone we want to invite" she tells me and I nod my head in agreement. I'm so lucky to have Kayla, she stuck by me through it all, I'm truly blessed to have her in my life.
Later we are sat at the dining room table making a list of the people to invite to the wedding, "Yeah, so Danny and Cheryl and Dougie and Leanne, of course, Katy too" I tell Kayla and she writes it all down, "What about Harry and Jennie" she suggests, I glare at her, "What do you what about Harry and Jennie, they are not coming to our wedding Kayla, no way" I shout at her as I storm in to the kitchen. I grab a beer from the fridge and begin drinking it when Kayla comes into the kitchen, "Tom come on, why can't you just forget the past?" Kayla sighs, "I'm trying, I'm just not having him at our wedding, he ruined my life" I snap at her, "don't snap at me, It's not my fault is it" Kayla shouts at me, "no it's not, do you really want to invite them?" I ask "Yes, Jennie is one of my best friends, I want her to come to my wedding" Kayla sighs, "Right fine, do what you want, you always do" I shout at her as I head out.
I head over to Danny's. "Alright mate" Danny smiles as he opens the door to let me in, "No" I answer, "What's up" he asks, "Kayla, she wants to invite Harry and Jennie to the wedding" I explain. "So what's wrong with that" he asks and I just stare at him, "Aint that obvious" I say and he looks at me confused. "Why would I invite the guy that ruined my life, our lives in fact" I sigh. "Come on Tom, it's not that bad" He says, I laugh, "Not that bad". "Anyway, I can see why she wants to invite them, Jennie is her best friend, she hasn't seen her since the split, it's been two years" Danny says, "I know and I feel bad about that, I just don't want him to come" I sigh, "Well if you want to make Kayla happy, I'm sure you could put up with him for one day, it won't kill you, you wouldn't have to talk to him, if you didn't want to" Danny explains. "Yeah I suppose, when did you become so clever Danny" I laugh. "Since I meet Cheryl" he blushes and we both laugh, "I suppose I better go and tell her that she can invite them" I say.

Chapter 2 - Harry's POV
Picking up Amber's toys I sigh, life has been pretty quiet since I left the band, I don't regret it, I love being a dad to Amber and I love being married to Jennie, things couldn't be more perfect. I do miss being in the band, more than I ever thought I would, I miss the guys more. I just wish things would have turned out differently. I wish I was still in contact with the guys. I guess they hate me for splitting the band up, I don't blame them to be honest. I'm not sure I'd support them if things were the other way around and they had ruined my career.
I'm pulled from my thoughts when the front door slams shut, I roll me eyes, Amber always pushes the door to hard and it always slams shut. "Daddy, Daddy look what Mummy got me" Amber screams as she enters the room jumping up sitting on my lap and showing me the new doll she had got, "It's beautiful Amber" I smile at her and she continued telling me about all the different thing you could buy for the doll. "Hey babe" Jennie says as she enters the room smiling at me, "What's with the goofy smile" I ask her and she rolls her eyes at me, "Can't I just be happy to see you" she asks and I laugh, "Suppose so, anything interesting" I say noticing she has the mail, "Just junk I think, not opened it all yet" she tells me. I take Amber into the kitchen to get her a drink and Jennie shouts through to me and asks me to come in quickly, "What's wrong?" I ask her, "This" she says as she hands me an envelope. I take the contents out of the envelope and begin to read.

The ceremony will take place on the 15th September 2008
At Summer Castle at the time of 1300 hours
I stare at the invite for a while, not believing that I have it. I'm stirred from my thoughts when Jennie begins to speak, "So...What do you think, can we go?" she pleads with me, hope filling her eyes, so much hope that I couldn't bring myself to tell her the answer I thought of, "Sure" i answer before i begin to think of a reason not to go. I know for a fact that Tom won't want me there and this is all Kayla doing. It would be great to see the guys though, but its never going to happen, we are not going, i won't ruin Tom's day by being there, i just need to think of an excuse to tell Jennie why we cant go.

Chapter 3 - Tom's POV
It's the night before the wedding and I'm at Danny's for my stag do. I'm so excited because this time tomorrow I'll be married to the most amazing girl. "So you excited?" Dougie asks, "Yeah, but I'm nervous too, what if she changes her mind, what if she realises that this is a massive mistake," I panic "What if" "What if you stop worrying, she wont change her mind mate" Danny interrupts my ramblings, "Yeah I mean its Kayla she loves you so much, would need to, to put up with your constant complaining about the band" Dougie continues. I roll my eyes at him and he giggles. "Beer?" Dougie asks as he leaves the room. "So did you invite Harry and Jennie" Danny asks and I nod, "Yeah, like you said it wont kill me for one day, as long as Kayla is happy then I'm happy" I sigh still not completely happy about it. We spend the rest of the night talking and drinking beers. Talking about the things we used to get up to in the band. Then we all head to bed at two in the morning, not that I can sleep, the thoughts I had from earlier whizzing through my head. Soon I fall in to an uneasy sleep.
Kayla's POV
"Jennie" I scream on opening the door to my best friend, who I haven't seen in nearly two years, "I'm so glad you could make it" I tell her excitedly. We go in to the living room and I introduce her to Kat and Cheryl her already knowing Katy. We all start chatting away Me, Jennie and Katy telling Kat and Cheryl about some of the things Danny and Dougie used to get up to. "I missed this" Jennie says after we all stop laughing, "Yeah me too" I answer. "You should have seen Harry's face when I gave him the invite" she giggles, "You should have seen Tom's face when I suggested inviting you both" I laugh. "It's been so funny all week Harry has been trying to find reasons not to go, he thinks I haven't realised that's what he is doing" she laughs, "Tom was the exact same, trying to find excuses not to invite Harry, You are coming though" I panic, "Yeah" she smiles putting me at ease, "We are bring Amber though, is that ok?" she asks, "Sure it is" I tell her, "Good both of them are really stubborn aren't they" Katy laughs, "Yeah, it's so unbelievable" Jennie adds. We finish our evening chatting more about the guys, Cheryl determined to slag Danny off for some of the things we had told her. At 3 o'clock Jennie goes home, the rest of us heading to bed at mine and Tom's. I soon fall into a peaceful sleep with thoughts of becoming Mrs Kayla Fletcher.

Chapter 4 - Tom’s POV
I wake up in the morning, nerves forming in the pit of my stomach, today’s the day. The day Kayla becomes my wife. I head downstairs where Danny and Cheryl are laughing away in the kitchen. “Hey” I say as I enter the room, “Hey you, some breakfast?” Cheryl smiles as I take a seat across from Danny. I nod, “yeah, thanks” I say. After breakfast I go for a shower then get my suit on and head back down to the living room, “Looking good Fletcher” Kat whistles making the others whistle too. I laugh until I notice Danny still hasn’t got changed. “Danny, your not changed, hurry up” I scream at him. “God chill, I’m going alright” Danny laughs as he leaves the room and heads upstairs. “Just move, we need to leave soon” I shout upstairs to him.
Soon we all make our way to the castle where the service is being held, my nerves become stronger as time moves on. At the back of the hall I notice that Harry and Jennie have arrived. I turn to face the front so as not too attract attention to me. Before I know it the service has begun, Kayla walking down the aisle in her amazing white dress, the trail floating behind her, the little diamond jewels sparkling in the light just like her eyes. “Dearly beloved we are gathered her today to witness the marriage of Thomas Fletcher and Kayla Tompson” the registrar says as I stand grinning from ear to ear at Kayla, her face doing the same. Soon after the registrar begins he I nearing the end of the service. “I announce you husband and wife, you may kiss the bride” he finishes off as everyone cheers.
We make our way outside for the photographs. “Can we have the bride, groom, best man and Maid of honour for the next photos” the photographer shouts. Along with Danny and Cheryl me and Kayla pose for the photos. We then have various other set ups and different locations, even a photo of the four of us, Me, Dougie, Danny and Harry, thanks to Danny saying it would be nice. If you say so Danny.
Later we head back inside to the reception, champagne freely flowing. After the meals, its time for the speeches. I start, “First of I’d like to thank ever single last one of you for coming today, it means the world. Secondly I’d like to thank Danny for not messing up with the rings and everything else, just dreading the speech know” I laugh, everyone laugh too, Danny pulling a face at me. “Thirdly I’d like to thank my parent and Kayla’s parents for being so supportive and helping organising this amazing day and I’d also like to thank Kat, Cheryl, Jennie and Katy for helping as well and being the perfect bridesmaids. Oh and I want to thank Dougie, well just for being Dougie. Lastly I’d like to thank the most amazing person in the world” I say being interrupted by Danny shouting, “And the most stupid”, “Thanks Danny, I’d like to thank you Kayla, for making me the most happiest guy in the world.” I finish of my speech off. After my speech its Danny’s turn. “So, I was going to start off by saying thanks to everyone for coming, but Tom made such a great job for doing it. So I’m going to keep this short, no one wants to listen to me go on for ages. It wasn’t so long a ago that I met Tom and me, him, Dougie and Harry where in one of the biggest bands of that time, we were stupid teenagers then but look at us now, Tom has just got married, Harry is married and has the cutest kid ever, Dougie actually has a girlfriend, that’s actually lasted longer than two weeks” Danny says as everyone laughs apart from Dougie who frowns at Danny’s joke. “Anyway, I also have the most amazing girlfriend too, I know this isn’t probably the best time but Tom agreed to let me do this. Cheryl, “ Danny says as he grabs Cheryl’s hand as I smile at him, “I love you babe, more than anything and I want to ask you something” he says as he gets down on one knee, “Will you marry me?” he asks as everyone gasps, not expecting that. “Ye….yes…I’ll…marry….you” Cheryl splutters. Everyone cheers as Danny and Cheryl share a kiss. Dougie stands up, “To the happy couples” he smiles as he toasts with the champagne.
Soon after the party gets in to full swing, everyone dancing and laughing away, Danny and Cheryl not leaving one another’s side all night. I spend most of the night dancing away with Kayla and the other guest, trying to avoid Harry. “Congratulations” he says as he sits down, I groan inside, not wanting to talk to him. “Thanks” I say as I get up, “Please Tom, I cant handle this anymore, I am so sorry about everything,, cant we just forget it and move on, be friends again” he asks with a tone of desperation in his voice. “No we can not, you ruined my life, not leave me alone before you ruin my wedding as well” I snap as I get up and go for a dance with my beautiful wife, before I know it the night comes to an end, me and Kayla heading to our room in the castle to spend our first night together as a married couple.

Lastly I’d like to thank the most amazing person in the world” I say being interrupted by Danny shouting, “And the most stupid”, “Thanks Danny, I’d like to thank you Kayla, for making me the most happiest guy in the world.” I finish of my speech off. After my speech its Danny’s turn. “So, I was going to start off by saying thanks to everyone for coming, but Tom made such a great job for doing it. So I’m going to keep this short, no one wants to listen to me go on for ages. It wasn’t so long a ago that I met Tom and me, him, Dougie and Harry where in one of the biggest bands of that time, we were stupid teenagers then but look at us now, Tom has just got married, Harry is married and has the cutest kid ever, Dougie actually has a girlfriend, that’s actually lasted longer than two weeks” Danny says as everyone laughs apart from Dougie who frowns at Danny’s joke. “Anyway, I also have the most amazing girlfriend too, I know this isn’t probably the best time but Tom agreed to let me do this. Cheryl, “ Danny says as he grabs Cheryl’s hand as I smile at him, “I love you babe, more than anything and I want to ask you something” he says as he gets down on one knee, “Will you marry me?” he asks as everyone gasps, not expecting that. “Ye….yes…I’ll…marry….you” Cheryl splutters. Everyone cheers as Danny and Cheryl share a kiss. Dougie stands up, “To the happy couples” he smiles as he toasts with the champagne.
Soon after the party gets in to full swing, everyone dancing and laughing away, Danny and Cheryl not leaving one another’s side all night. I spend most of the night dancing away with Kayla and the other guest, trying to avoid Harry. “Congratulations” he says as he sits down, I groan inside, not wanting to talk to him. “Thanks” I say as I get up, “Please Tom, I cant handle this anymore, I am so sorry about everything,, cant we just forget it and move on, be friends again” he asks with a tone of desperation in his voice. “No we can not, you ruined my life, not leave me alone before you ruin my wedding as well” I snap as I get up and go for a dance with my beautiful wife, before I know it the night comes to an end, me and Kayla heading to our room in the castle to spend our first night together as a married couple.
